Orthodontist in Wagga Wagga

Customised orthodontic treatment for children, teens and adults. Your goals, your lifestyle, your choice.

Our specialist orthodontists, Dr Steven Smith and Dr Ruth Fairhurst, look after patients of all ages, from a first check at around age 7 to adult treatment. Well-aligned teeth can be easier to clean, and orthodontic treatment can improve how your teeth bite together. Your orthodontist will explain what treatment can and can't achieve in your case.

Early orthodontic checks

The ASO recommends a first check at around age 7–8. Many children just need monitoring.

Orthodontic FAQs

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book an orthodontic consultation directly. If your dentist has referred you, bring the referral or ask them to send it to The OSO.

How long does treatment take?

It varies from person to person. Many courses of treatment take between 12 months and 2–3 years. We'll give you an estimate for your case.

Braces or Invisalign: which is better?

Neither is better for everyone. It depends on the type of correction needed, your age and how consistently aligners will be worn. Your orthodontist will go through the options with you.

Is orthodontic treatment safe?

All treatment has some risks, such as gum inflammation, decalcification and root shortening, and some teeth can move back after treatment, which is why retainers matter. We explain the risks at your consultation.
